For me, "tree" is something like [ts,ri:], with the t slightly further
back than a normal /t/, but still alveolar, and the [s,] is definitely
retroflex, but brief (altho, it might also be merely a voiceless r, thus
representing merely a delayed voicing). "Dream" is [dri:m], with no
affrication, or possibly a small amount in casual speech.
