I meant "too many *different* vowels that can appear in stressed syllables.
In English there are 12-14, depending on dialect; in Italian, 7; in Spanish, 5.
Closed syllables (ones that end in consonants) also make rhymes more difficult;
English has gobs of these, Italian and Spanish only a few.
