Leonard Bernstein? IIRC, it is said he liked to use it in his music, but I
can only think of one example-- in "Maria" (West Side Story):
"Maria, I've just met a girl named...."
The syllables _mari-_ and _I've just_ are sung C -> F# (then on to G-- but
the piece is in C maj. here, and it's not a proper D-7 > G cadence, which is
what James W. is describing AIUI)
