Same for me... most of the English I know and understand is written English.
I can understand spoken English but most I guess from the context... even an
IPA encoded English would be difficult to me to read mentaly... I should
read it loud and trying to pronounce it I would lost the context and the
message.  I can try to figure out the code used by NN and I even try to read
short postings but when the act of reading becomes more important than
getting the message I, as most people in this list, would stop reading.

(the only code I can read without much problem -besides traditional Roman-
is my own code... and I said "without *much* problem".  A little look at
