This is almost amounting to a FAQ, but I don't mind answering again:
in a word, yes. The "c" is a highly reduced form of "Mac", and "Cowan" >
"Mac Eoghain" = "son of Eoghan". So if I were of Comroig rather
than Hiberno-Deutsch origin, "Llewan" would have been a plausible
surname for my family.
