i thought i would share with you all a something that 'fell out of the sk=
y',
and ask for suggestions... it's a couple of phrases (? not really sure) o=
f
an as yet unidentified language of mine i have been researching, and they=
're
the longest constructions i have in it yet......
akutsiak =9A=9A'uuq
nuktoaqitun koasitut
suggestions as to what this is, and where i should go with this tiny litt=
le
nugget, would be greatly appreciated. it seems to be a naturalistic
language, with eskimoic influences (though it does not have ergative
structure, and it appears to be verb - final, as i have deciphered the 1s=
t
phrase sketchily)
akutsiak =9A=9A'uuq
akut-siak =9A=9A'-uuq
store-allative. go1s-action 'about to be completed' marker
i am going to the store
vowels are cardinal european, doubled consonants and vowels are purel=
y a
length distinction, and _q_ is a uvular stop.
btw, can someone think of a better term for this than _action about t=
o
be completed_? it seems awkward. the verbs appear to be centred around
completion of action rather than time.
thanks!
