Birth defects? Stillborn children?
A Punnet:
X Y
-------
X|XX|XY|
|------
Y|XY|YY|
-------
YY, of course, is completely unviable (too many missing genes),
so there'd be a 2:1 male to female sex ratio.
Highly speculative apparatus needed; you'd have to get the DNA
from the monoploid germ cells to combine, and either use a
donated egg (which introduces a third biological parent) or come
up with an eggless cloning process.
