Hmm, apparently I was mired in the past, as so often happens.... At one time
years back UCB was trying to steal the Beckers from Michigan-- she was
ethnomusicology/gamelan, he Linguistics/Indonesian-- so I just assumed they
had a language program. Cut by the budgeteers, perhaps?
