Well they have catlike features, but are not necessarily evolved from
cats, although they do have retractable claws on their hands, and maybe
their gods do too<g>. How this works, practically and effecting
language and culture would be welcome. The conculture list has already
given me some advice.
Details of their language is slowly coming together. Pablo has kindly
let me borrow the phonology of Rioplatense on his website as a basis of
their language (Argentine catpeople!?) That gives them some lovely
sounding ficatives. (This is a plug for Pablo's pages - it's somewhere
that I like to go and visit again on the net).
I went looking at an old language project and I am slowly seeing how I
can relex it fit these creatures. It was very pidginlike and I think I
would like to try and create a language based on a pidgin grammar with
analogical and isolating features. I think I'll go look at Comrie
again for this.
But it's been years since I've tried to create a language isolate, which
they should be so advice on word generators would be welcome.
My dead harddrive has taken with it the ideas I was thinking about for
creating a goblin language. But I'm reconstructing them from scratch
and seeing that the details will fit adaquately well into this language.
Enough of this. Everyone's out of the house and that would make it a
good time to take a bath instead of a shower. Good night all!
- andrew.
