A trigger system is a system where the term put in focus is marked as such, but
not for function in the sentence. The function of the trigger (it can be
virtually anything: actor, patient, beneficiary, but also location, time,
instrument, accompaniment, etc...) is instead marked on the verb with some
affix or verbal inflection. All the other non-focused elements are marked
normally, i.e. with case-markings and/or appositions.
