_Mazat_ means "love" as an abstract noun - I should've stated that in my
first post. The exact meaning of the "basic noun" (or "basic verb" with u
between radicals 1 and 2 for that matter) is not going to be completely
predictable from the root meaning - basically it'll be the most "natural" or
common noun relating to the root meaning. Some examples:
MZT "love" yields _mazat_ "love", _muzatu_ "(he) loves"*
THK "man" yields _tahak_ "man", _tuhaku_ "(he) is manly"
KZL "woman" yields _kazal_ "woman", _kuzali_ "(she) is womanly"**
KLN "clan" yields _kalan_ "clan", and no verb
GZM "fight" yields _gazam_ "fight, war", _guzamu_ "(he) fights"
SPK "speech" yields _sapak_ "(a) language", _supaku_ "(he) speaks"
* The Kalini ("Clans") are most certainly no feminists, and happily consider
the masculine present as the most basic form of a verb!
** Obviously, there's no such form as **_kuzalu_ "(he) is womanly"!
Obviously, there'll be adjectives, agental formations etc too from these
roots, but I'm still working on that.
