This reminds me of the famous occasion on which a King of England toured a newly opened cathedral and denounced it, to the architect no less, as "awful, pompous, and artificial". But no, Charles II was in fact praising Christopher Wren's work on St. Paul's -- as "awe-inspiring, majestic, and ingeniously designed".
