Have you guys tried the Barns & Noble site?
www.bn.com
They have a section devoted entirely to out of print books.
Just a few minutes ago I happened to see an item on
out of print books in the October issue of Yahoo magazine.
They recommended the B&N site. I quickly checked it out for
Languages of Pao, and literally within seconds, I was presented
with various copies of the book for sale. The paperback ones
were listed at between $18 and $20. Not cheap, but then again,
not in print either.
Hope this helps.

(PS. I'm quoting myself because when I sent this, I wasn't aware that,
due to my ISP changing my address on me, and despite their assurances
that nothing would change, it seems that I can receive mail _from_ the =
list,
but not send anything _to_ it! :-P I rejoined under my new address and
hope that this will allow my mail to go out. )
