Oh how disappointment. Maybe we should be talking of one ah ... i then.
One i, two bus. Anyway, as you said: there's no bus_es_ plural in
ancient Rome, so we'd better have a plural for the word. Otherwise they
couldn't deny their existence! From which one may decude the reason the
English singular comes from the Latin plural. (I like logic ;)
