After the resignation of Charles Kennedy as leader of the UK's Liberal Democrat Party, the favourite to replace him is Sir Menzies Campbell, whose first name is pronounced [mINIz] or [mIN]. The unusual spelling of his name is attributed to the fact that the z was originally a yogh. Pete
