Lookin' for the OED

Does anyone know of an electronic version of the Oxford English Dictionary
that can be downloaded? As far as I know, the copyright for the first edition
should have expired some time ago. If all else fails, I can always use
Webster's 1913 edition, but the OED would be preferred.
In case anyone is wondering, I had a flash of inspiration for my Cleansed
English project (my attempts to strip English of Latin and French loans,
which had been on the back burner for some years now). I realized that I
could whip up a little script that would scan each entry to determine its
etymology and to preserve those that fit my criteria (Old English roots, with
Norse and other early Germanic borrowings allowed). The OED would be ideal,
since it has a lot of words that are no longer in common usage.
