Well, I see in Spanish that -ir verbs are just -er verbs where the root's finnal vowel is becomes high (e->i, o->u) when there is not an stressed high vowel. Drop this alternance in one way or another (regularize those verbs), and the difference between -ir and -er disapears in all but the infinitive (and the infinitive derived tenses). -- Carlos Th __________________________________ L E A Ñ I O N Ò U O, U N A E Á N Ò U A
