Actually, _The Monsters and the Critics_ shouldn't be _that_ hard to find,
since it was recently reprinted, and it's definitely worth checking. You
might also want to look up the Lojban reference grammar, which even though
the full text is available on the web, is an actual published book (_The
Complete Lojban Language_, by the Conlang list's own John Cowan).
