[Tech] MS Access

Does anyone have any experience of creating a dictionary database with MS
Access? I recently tried to do something with it, but it seems to have a
rather steep learning curve to do anything more complex than a flat file. If
all I can do is a flat file, I may as well stick with Excel, although I'd
prefer the easier searches that Access offers.
The ideal situation would be if someoen here has made a template.
