"Diminutives apparently can be longer than the name they are derived from. If I am not mistaken the word "diminutives" to describe these terms of endearment comes from the fact that in many Western languages the suffix used was the diminutive suffix otherwise used on nouns with the connotation of smallness. casa; casita, hence: Rosa; Rosita Jim H (tá bredíay Drún)
