Oblique cases are usually all cases apart from the Nominative and the
Accusative. In Direct/Oblique systems, such as Romanian or Hindi, the Direct
case refers to the Subject or Direct object, and the Oblique to the indirect
object and Pre/Postpositional phrases. However, in Old French terminology,
the Direct is just the subject, and the Oblique everything else.
