Since French is the only other language that has "Europe" with a -e (just like
we have "Afrique", "Asie", "Amérique", "Océanie", all ending with silent -e,
which is the normal outcome of final unstressed -a), couldn't it be that
English borrowed the term from French rather than directly from Latin?
