Yes, as I was pointing out the more interesting facts about the
colors. The ones from Spanish are pretty obvious.

Well, Spanish in the Philippines always had a very aristocratic bent
to it. Speakers of it tended to be very careful about their Spanish.
Especially since the people who typically spoke Spanish in the
Philippines were themselves of the aristocratic class.
Besides, the pronunciation of the time was infact the palatalized l.
It just never changed. Most of the Philippine languages are also very
forgiving with things like consonant clusters and final consonants
anyway.
