Thanks Jesse and Roger (and prospectively to any future posters) -
very helpful. I feel a lot more relaxed about including 'feature
inventory' in the set of things to be tinkered with ... and combined
with the fascinating thing about minimum feature distance that
somebody posted about in the Russian consonant thread recently, it
looks like Telona phonetics is in for another revamp.
[groan - the last one took me a year... :)) ]
BTW, has anyone out there made any serious attempt to use
optimality theory as a conlang design tool?
