The final trick must be abandoning the categories when doing the final
synthesis - otherwise one is apt to take them for absolute reality. I
think the time has come where it is getting more insightful to insist
upon the connection between meaning and form, rather than on their
separation. The problem is that, even with the current speed of
scholarly development, we almost never conciously see the synthesis
produced by the effects of hypothesis and counter-hypothesis, which
of necessity are often stated in absolutes.
