It happened in Italian poetry, as well. But I personally tend to see the offspring of these experiments lacking poetic devices as poetic prosa, rather than poetry. IMHO many songs composed by our "cantautori" following traditional poetic tricks as rhymes, allitterations etc. are much better, both formally and aesthetically, than most contemporary written poetry.
