Absolutely. Auxlangers and engelangers usually don't create fictional worlds to go with their languages, and even some artlangers don't do so. So, references to worldbuilding leaves many, many conlangers out of the picture - conlanging, while being a part of the art of worldbuilding, does not necessarily go with worldbuilding, but exists very well independent of it.

I don't think "Sick of English?" cuts it. I didn't get into conlanging because I got "sick" of this or that language - in my case, it was an outcrop of my interest in fictional worlds combined with a general fascination of letters and symbols of any kind. Since then, I have created languages both in the context of fictional worlds and without.
