I'm only a student of french, but remember that present tense can be translated 3 ways: "I blank, I am blanking, and I do blank" I would therefore translate the sentence (given the lack of context) I do eat (cane?) and it is so good. Meaning it's something he/she does on a regular basis. The do can be eliminated in english: I eat cane, and [when I do,] it is so good! Makes perfect sense to me. But I dunno. I'm only studying french :) -Axiem
