Obviously there then would have been difficulties travelling
from one side to the other, thus engendering the isolation
that's always good for divergent evolution.
_I_ am wondering what that would have done to
_Black_ English (or whatever the politically correct name is now);
and obConculture, what would have happened to Black music
(blues: would the Northern Blacks have developed the form?
jazz: what would divergent evolution have done to the
New Orleans-Detroit difference? And would Elvis have happened?
