The Latin name of the river we call today Po was Padus, hence Padania.
They'd like to split away from Italy saying that they are not Italian, but
the ultimate offspring of Celts and Gauls - and there are people that vote
them!!! Their speculations are even based on the name 'GalloItalic
dailects' --- well, it's true we have a few very ancient words probably from
the Celtic substratum, but not as many as to justify their ideas.
