Well, ther three punctuation marks in the Ranaka Scripts (it's final name), are: comma - . , exclamation mark - :, and full stop ||. The single line would be good, because I can see writers writing that (perhaps a bit higher than the other glyphs to distinguish it ), instead of the top bar of the "proper" virama.

Hmm, i should check that out.Tamil seems to look very similar too, and it even uses some grantha characters for some sounds.
