Ha! Am I right in translating 'verdammt und zugenäht'
as 'damned and sewn'? Awesome expression.
Over here on the other side of the pond, we have a
pretty popular book called 'Scheisse: The German You
Were Never Taught in School'. If there's any other
better reference for German vulgarities, I have never
seen it.
My personal favorite from that book is 'dir hat wohl
einer ins Gehirn geschissen und vergessen umzurühren';
I loved that expression so much I use it in English.
It corresponds beautifully with calling someone a
'shithead'.
I actually was intending to write an exhaustive guide
for German speakers on English vulgarities, at least
the ones we Americans use in daily conversation. Would
anyone be interested in helping me, should I find the
inclination to do so?
