Thanks for that. I still haven't found the list I was thinking of, which was much more concise, but this has useful information (plus examples of actual reduplications).

I've often been annoyed by that, reading Linguist List archives (and archives of other lists they host). Sometimes, too, I find two copies of the same posting, one in that horrid bold format, and the other looking more normal; the non-bold version of the above post is available at <http://linguistlist.org/issues/6/6-52.html>. I'm not sure why they have it available in two formats in two places; perhaps one is the raw archive of the mailing list, while the other is an edited digest sort of thing?
