Palatal is the place where in the mouth the sound is made, apical is the
part of the tongue. Most palatal sounds are lamino-palatal - made at
tha palatal with the body of the tongue. If palatal clicks are usually
apical, then you could specify apico-palatal for that and lamino-palatal
for those made like n~.
