Well, in the case of those Papua New Guinean languages, they can (IIUC) render colors by comparing things to other things, something like "the color of leaves", it's just not a lexical item. -- "[H]e axed after eggys: And the goode wyf answerde, that she coude not speke no Frenshe ...
