Can you (plural) point me to any English dictionary that considers "alright" (which I mentally pronounce "Al Wright" :-) ) to be a standard spelling in any context whatever? I have always used "all right" to mean that something is okay (as well as to mean that the entirety of something is correct). I didn't realise that it had yet undergone a transformation parallel to "all ready" => "already" or "all days" => "always". --larry
