In a language with abslolute vs. ergative case marking
and topic-comment sentence construction, should
deleted noun phrases be assumed to refer to the
absolute clause or to the topic (rather it's absolute
or not)? Also, in languages with agent-patient
systems, how does the semantics of NP deletion work?
