Sheesh, did I feel like they were pushing "Middle American English" on me,
while my family spoke a very marked Southern, more precisely East Texan,
accent. The diphthing [ai] stuck in my craw the most. I was used to saying
[a+] (tongue advanced towards [ae)].) The suburbanoids of Houston, Dallas
and Austin can say all the [ai]'s all they want :P I speak Redneck.
Diphthing? Hey, a neologism! I'll keep that one.
