No, a glottal stop is only inserted automatically when two like vowels
come next to each other. Two vowels different vowels can occur next to each
other whenever they want. When they do occur with a glottal stop in between,
it's because it was originally a proto *k in Proto-Polynesian. All *k>[?]
from Proto-Polynesian to Hawaiian.
