There was Balaibalan, a consciously created secret language of a Muslim
sect in medieval Turkey. They had some far-reaching theology about the
creative/sacred nature ofg letters, sounds and words as well. There is a
book about invented languages by the Italian orientalist Bausani which
treats of it rather fully. I got the Italian version of that part of the
book somewhere in my papers, but I can't find it right now, nor would I be
able to quickly translate it accurately. There is a German translation of
the book, which alas is missing from the local university library...
Author: Bausani, Alessandro
Title: Geheim- und Universalsprachen : Entwicklung und Typologie /
Publication: Stuttgart : Kohlhammer, cop. 1970
Material Information: 175 p.
Series: Sprache und Literatur (Stuttgart), 57
Hope this helps.
