generally try to keep the physics in his universe reasonably credible,
too.

Sorry, no exact link, I live in China and today and yesterday huge
chunks of the internet disapeared from my reach. General incompetence
of the public IT sector over here is the most likely cause (yet again)
or possibly but less likely large chunks of the world are sick of
being port-scanned by trojaned Chinese domains (last PC I cleaned for
someone here had 138 viruses/trojans/spywares!!!). :-(
