Darn, the stress is supposed to be on the second syllable:
/ia'mai/
/ia'tau/
/ia'kain/
But I'm not really liking those forms; what about these:
/i'me/ /me/
/i'ta/ /ta/
/i'ko/ /ko/
I admit that I'm reverting /a i u/ as the unstressed vowel inventory, silly
as it is to change back and forth. Of course, whether it's /a i u/ or /a e
o/ is linguistically speaking trivial, given that the unstressed /i u/ are
meant to be pronounced lax and probably more open too; but it makes a big
difference in the way the words "look", which is a concern.
