Well, until recently I recorded the sound-bits as wav files using
Windows (lowest quality possible, for that authentic fieldwork-effect
;-)), and then converted it using xrealproducer under Linux. But
there's a realproducer for every common operating system, and you
can also record directly, from aux or mic. Using something as closed
an proprietary as realaudio doesn't come easily to me, but it _is_
the smallest, handiest format available.
