I think it used to be cheaper. I had a copy when I was a grad student, more than
a decade ago, and I don't think I would have paid $260 for it. That's what
Microsoft wants these days. $260 isn't outlandish for office software in
general, but for such a single purpose bit of software, it's hard to justify.

Unfortunately, the demand is probably too low for OpenOffice to add it as a component. But we
can dream. :)
