In addition to Visible Speech (and Shavian to a lesser extent),
been other examples of "featural" scripts (I've designed a few of them
myself, the most successful of which is Ljoerr-teg).
The script that has existed in many various versions in my conlangs
started off as a rather abstract featural script (velum was to the
left and lips were to the right, unvoiced velar stop looked like
English capital C) but has now evolved so far that you can't see the
origins in most of them.
