Well, if the migration moved west to reach the foothills of the Rockys,
they would have moved a great distance. This means they started with a
larger group, or they were masters of diplomacy since there was the
mound builders and many other groups between the east coast and the
rockies..
Of course if they some how found lake erie and like, or found the
mississippi then it would have been easier, but still not very easy.

So I suspect they took time, while leaving small colonies along the way,
as well as mixed alot with the local tribes.. Maybe an idea is the
ruling class were Celtic in the end, but the lower classes with be
native population, much like how many Indo-European groups worked out in
many other areas.

Reason for the colonies was that many people would want to stop and
settled, especially since the lands along they way would be great for
farming..

Over time I expect the colonies to form their own kingdoms, fighting
amongst each other, much like how the Irish were c.500ad.. Unless they
had some external enemy as well as changes in inheritance rules.. Old
Irish inheritance was that any decendent of the grandfather of the
deceased King could apply to be King, so there was many claimants,
combined with the fertile nature of Irish Kings/rulers as well as the
adoption/acknowledgement rules of the Irish.

I do expect their higher tech would help them alot. But the Amerindians
are not stupid, and I expect they would adopt atleast the more warlike
parts of said tech.

Ideas for External enemies, well, how old was the Iriquois
Nation/Confederation? Who were the mound builders? Did there exist
colonies of Basque and like in the New World, even if they were summer
fishing communities?

How did they get to the New World (The Brithenig)? Carrocks (hide boats)
are not that good for the distance. Iceland is a bit far, it is possible
they would have gone Scotland-Orkneys-Shetland-Faroes-Iceland-Greenland
route, but they would have had knowledge of said lands? I know there was
monsestary colonies in Iceland but that was c.990ad.

I wonder for an external enemy might be the Hopi/Anisazi? Or maybe some
Aztec/Mayan group that moved North? Moundbuilders? Early Mandans?
