    The Aelya myth is that they came across on magical boats. Best historical
theory is that they followed (basically) the Norse path (i.e. up to the
Orkneys, Faroe Islands, Iceland, Greenland, Newfoundland, then down along the
coast to somewhere on the East coast). Archeological evidence supports an
Aelyar entry into Asteir somewhere in the vicinity of *here's* Maine.

    Note that the term is now Aelyara, not Aelyan (which sounds too much like
Alien to my ears!). Aelyara refers to the people collectictively. Aelyar
refers to 1) an individual Aelyara person, 2) an adj. pertaining to the
Aelyara.
