Hi,
this must be my first message here, because I've failed on my
other attempts :) (one mail was directed to the sender, and the other on
egroups, where I found this was noot the right location on the list).

occidental and oriental are also names to speak of people.

Septentrion is seldom used. In some old texts or poetic contexts yes.
Meridionnal as a name is used to speak of people from the south of France
and is frequently used. I can't think of it as meaning "South" speaking
of a place.
