Then you must have extremely strange vocal chords which are stiff at rest
state. You just *cannot* have relaxed vocal chords which don't vibrate as soon
as you breathe! I am perfectly aware of what happens in my throat, and I am
perfectly sure that the rest statr of the vocal chords is indeed relaxed, and
that it is in that state that they vibrate naturally to make voiced sounds. And
I do have to stiffen them to prevent the vibration and get voiceless sounds.
Constricting the vocal chords produces creaky voice with me, which is something
completely different.
