This was my first 'real' grammar. It's quite good and clear, but is
totally different from the Mouton grammars in style. I can't put my
finger on what's exactly different - but there is something. Maybe just
old-fashioned-ness. Matisoff's Lahu grammar is excellent, too, but also
very old-fashioned, very seventies in outlook and presentation.
There really has been a good crop of reference grammars in the last
decade.
